The doors of Buckingham’s historic High Street pub re-opened following a six-month, detailed restoration project. First built alongside the canal in the early 1800’s, it has reverted to its original name, The Grand Junction.

The Grand Junction has been transformed as the result of an imaginative design which has captured and highlighted the essence of the pub’s historical connections with the canal systems of Georgian England.

The entrance from the High Street into this magnificently refurbished

restaurant and bar is like a door leading into the saloon of a canal boat.

There are clues everywhere to the history, customs and traditions of

The Grand Union Canal: lacquered paintwork, hand-painted signwriting,

creative lighting and wall art have all been chosen to reflect the traditional

style of Britain’s narrow boats – and even the floor tiles in the restaurant

replicate the contours of the former canal.

Outside, a beautifully designed Mediterranean-inspired courtyard garden

with a large gazebo and a choice of seating.

The Rose Inn - Wokingham UK. Launch update on the previous blog post.

Complete with a Secret Garden including gorgeous wild flower décor perfect for a sensational outdoor lunch or dinner. Down lighting highlights the stunning rock wall, hanging woven lanterns and eye popping globe ball lights complete the serene setting.

The Oak Room sparkles with fabulous chandeliers and a giant warm fireplace, all framed with a beautifully restored wooden roof expanding the entire room.

The stunning bar is on display for all to view, highlighting bar favourites. Large wooden panels with soft green couches and numerous winged backed chairs makes for a cosy traditional touch.

Located in the heart of Wokingham, The Rose Inn is a welcoming pub to the local community.
